About Footstars

Natalia founded Footstars Academy in early 2019 with a clear vision and strong motivation. As a psychologist, ex professional football/futsal player and mother of 3, she wanted to create a space where children such as her own could improve their skills in a supportive and high-level environment. 

She believes in the power of sports to teach valuable life lessons such as discipline, resilience, and the importance of teamwork. With this mission in mind, Natalia brought together a group of professional and dedicated coaches who shared her vision of nurturing young talent. 

As the founder of FSA, Natalia brings a visionary approach, driven by her passion for nurturing young talent and providing elite-level training opportunities. With a background in coaching and leadership, she combines her deep understanding of futsal with her commitment to fostering personal growth and teamwork among players. Natalia’s ability to create a positive, supportive environment has been instrumental in the academy's growth and success. She brings strong organizational skills, a collaborative spirit, and a focus on long-term player development, ensuring that FSA continues to thrive as a hub for aspiring athletes.

Dane began his coaching journey with FSA in mid-2021 as a relief coach, quickly earning a position as one of our key team coaches. With a strong background as an elite futsal player, Dane brings a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the sport. His dedication and expertise led to his promotion in 2023 to Head Coach, where he now coaches and oversees the development and implementation of the FSA curriculum

Marty began coaching at FSA in October 2019, initially assisting with both football and futsal clinics. By 2020, he had transitioned into coaching full teams. After a brief departure, Marty rejoined FSA in January 2023 with a long-term commitment and now serves as our Chief of Operations and coach. With over 20 years of coaching experience and a distinguished background as a professional futsal player, Marty brings a wealth of expertise and organizational skills to FSA, playing a key role in the club’s development and success

With training sessions designed to be challenging and fun, families from all over South-West Brisbane were eager to join the club, and numbers grew fast. The futsal club became a thriving community where young athletes could pursue their love for the sport while growing both as players and individuals.

Through the coaches’ dedication and hard work, the club has grown steadily, becoming a cornerstone of youth sports in the community. Today, it continues to provide children with the opportunity to develop in an elite environment, embodying the values of sportsmanship, dedication, and personal growth envisioned from the start.

We aim to assist coaches to build their craft to a standard where they are considered for representative honours.

We want to give players the opportunity and training required to develop to a high standard, where they can be considered for representative honours.

In line with FQ eligibility criteria for an F-League licence, we want to increase the number of players in the club to be able to accommodate 1 team in every FQ age group, including men's, women's, boys and girls.

Following the lead of clubs such as Cambio Cumbre, we aim to have a full-time home of futsal for our club.

We want to work towards having a team of employees dedicated to futsal development, including 5 full-time coaches

Understanding that feedback is a necessary component for development, we have plans in place to develop the most effective feedback system for junior futsal in the region
