Futsal Coaching

Player Development

Thanks to our specialised coaches, Footstars delivers the best coaching practices recommended by Football Australia through their vast experience and training, with the main two focuses in junior development being enjoyment and learning first. We offer sessions focused on skill development but our team sessions equally include tactical and team elements as well.

Teams are formed based on skill level but everyone is given the opportunity to develop, with similar game time allocated during competition qualifying rounds and written feedback delivered regularly for kids above the Discovery Phase of development (at least 10 years old).

Coaching Development

To further enhance player development, we provide our coaches with access to a specialized Technical Development Portal. This tool offers a structured pathway of drills and exercises, carefully curated to maximize both productivity and enjoyment during training sessions.

By equipping our coaches with this resource and others, we ensure that every player receives the right challenges at the right time, fostering continuous growth in their technical skills. By having these structures in place, we are able to continuously improve how we operate, aiming to lead the way in junior development, not trophies.

Player Feedback

Regular Feedback

From this term, players 10 and up will receive reports at the end of each term to highlight their positives and most critical areas to improve. These reports are not based on extensive video analysis and are just a quick summary for players to build on. They will also briefly summarise what has been taught each term, so players and parents are aware of what they are expected to understand.

On-Demand PowerPoint Feedback

After analyzing game footage, we create a detailed PowerPoint highlighting a player's key areas for improvement and their strengths, such as improvements, special contributions, and outstanding plays.

This feedback tool not only boosts confidence but also helps players recognize their strengths while receiving clear, in-depth video explanations that go beyond what’s covered in team settings.

For high-performing players, we suggest new projects and compare their play to professional games to elevate their skills. Players eagerly anticipate these PowerPoints, which have proven to significantly enhance their game.

Pricing is $25 per game for FSA members and $35 for non-members, with a minimum of two games required for analysis

Private and Small Group Sessions

Weekly private sessions can be ideal for developing speed, providing more individualised feedback, refining conceptual understanding of a broader range of skills, and working on things that can't be worked on in team sessions.

Futsal sessions are subject to court hire, otherwise hourly rates are $60 for 1 player, $100 for 2, $135 for 3, and $120 for 4. Contact us to organise venue and time.

Coach Development

Despite the scarcity of coaching courses in futsal these days, we still ensure quality through our new methods of training coaches. This includes online tests useful for assessing the base knowledge of coaches as they are recruited so we know what to work on, as well as online resources in a coach's hub to equip coaches to thrive. We will also be conducting internal courses to help establish consistency across age groups, and ensuring coaches understand AFC coaching principles taught by Football Australia.

Furthermore, we aim to assist coaches in acquiring licenses and until coaches can gain their relevant AFC licenses, we teach similar content as much as we can ourselves.
